My interest in the cyberbully known as Dawn Gordon comes from concern for people I know – both online and offline. But these people have requested that I do not mention their names because they have been told by the police that they should ignore Ms. Gordon’s harassment and not take her bait.
The Modus Operandi of Dawn Gordon
Ms. Gordon has targeted multiple bloggers – via Twitter and the comments sections of their blogs – because she believes them to be someone else. I do not claim to know whether or not her anger toward her presumed targets is justified, but I do know that the people she has targeted that I have met in person (and can therefore verify their identities) are not who Ms. Gordon thinks they are. After talking with one of my friends who has been targeted by Ms. Gordon – a friend who was in tears and shaking from the bullying she’s endured – I tried to engage Ms. Gordon in conversation via Twitter to ask her if there was any sort of proof she would accept that my friend was not who she thought she was. This is what I got in response:

Have You Been Harassed by Dawn Gordon?
If you have been a victim of Dawn Gordon’s cyberbullying and would like to share your fact-based story, please leave a comment on this post letting me know the best way to contact you. Proof is helpful in the form of screenshots, police reports, and the like.
If Ms. Gordon is harassing you via Facebook, you may report her profile. She has been posting comments on the walls of several businesses with the names of various bloggers in connection with her belief that they have different identities. Additionally, Facebook has a policy against creating fake profiles, i.e. profiles that do not use a person’s real name. Interestingly, her profile may be reported as the fake identity she is accusing others of using.
