Bully Profile – Dawn Gordon

by Christina Gleason on December 12, 2011

My interest in the cyberbully known as Dawn Gordon comes from concern for people I know – both online and offline. But these people have requested that I do not mention their names because they have been told by the police that they should ignore Ms. Gordon’s harassment and not take her bait.

The Modus Operandi of Dawn Gordon

Ms. Gordon has targeted multiple bloggers – via Twitter and the comments sections of their blogs – because she believes them to be someone else. I do not claim to know whether or not her anger toward her presumed targets is justified, but I do know that the people she has targeted that I have met in person (and can therefore verify their identities) are not who Ms. Gordon thinks they are. After talking with one of my friends who has been targeted by Ms. Gordon – a friend who was in tears and shaking from the bullying she’s endured – I tried to engage Ms. Gordon in conversation via Twitter to ask her if there was any sort of proof she would accept that my friend was not who she thought she was. This is what I got in response:

Screenshot of Dawn Gordon's tweets to Christina

She followed with a tweet saying:
teaches you people a damn good lesson of mocking holy spirit with claiming GOD is wrong
The tweet confused me at first, but then it made sense. Ms. Gordon believes that God is helping her determine the “true identities” of the people she is targeting, and when anyone tries to suggest that she is incorrect, even with offers of proof, she dismisses them as “making a mockery of the Holy Spirit.”
In addition to the harassment, which individuals can screen out by banning Ms. Gordon’s known IP addresses and blocking her on Twitter, Ms. Gordon has begun contacting companies her targets have worked with on their blogs. She states that she is informing these companies that they are being defrauded, claiming that these bloggers are lying about their identities and posting fake reviews in order to garner “free stuff.” This libelous behavior cannot be prosecuted unless the victims can prove that damage has been done – i.e. lost business due to her false claims about their identities – but it is something that Ms. Gordon’s targets should be vigilant about, potential damage control. Ms. Gordon has had many different Twitter identities, because her accounts have been suspended in the past, so by the time you read this post, she may ot may not still be going by @poeticalprophet.
Update December 14, 2011: Even if all of the people Ms. Gordon has targeted were exactly who she thought they were, her behavior would still constitute harassment, bullying, and potentially libel.

Victims of Dawn Gordon

As previously mentioned, the people I know did not want me to mention their names on this blog, but a quick Google search turned up a number of Ms. Gordon’s other victims. I provide these links for reference, but I cannot vouch for the accuracy of  other people’s claims. A pattern of behavior is discernible, however, so you can be the judge as to whether or not these victims’ claims are legitimate:

Update December 14, 2011: Please read the comments section for more information from some of Dawn’s targets.

Have You Been Harassed by Dawn Gordon?

If you have been a victim of Dawn Gordon’s cyberbullying and would like to share your fact-based story, please leave a comment on this post letting me know the best way to contact you. Proof is helpful in the form of screenshots, police reports, and the like.

If Ms. Gordon is harassing you via Facebook, you may report her profile. She has been posting comments on the walls of several businesses with the names of various bloggers in connection with her belief that they have different identities. Additionally, Facebook has a policy against creating fake profiles, i.e. profiles that do not use a person’s real name. Interestingly, her profile may be reported as the fake identity she is accusing others of using.

The ability of Dawn to ignore publicly available facts is epic I’m afraid. Acording to her I’ve been supposed to have been unemployed for nearly a year now. My continued (verifiable) employment at Massey and classes I teach were just converted into a ‘favour’ the university extended. And the emails from Massey confirming my employment to her (when she pretended to be a lawyer) were rejected outright as lies.

I think it does help if people do spread the word though that she’s a promoter of outrageous fiction. It’s depressing watching her spread the story she’s the victim of a cruel betrayal by a narcissist adulterer- and having people succumb to that lie. Likewise her venomous attacks on people’s blogs as frauds, should be shown up for what they are- baseless and malicious.

I’ve been a target of Dawn’s in the past. She’s not harassing at the moment so, for obvious reasons, I want to post anonymously. I did want to address one of her recent claims, though. She’s claimed that Business2Blogger and MomSelect aren’t registered businesses. She claims to have run a “nationwide search”. I’d like to know what tool she used because, using only Google and the sites themselves, I was able to uncover both registrations within 10 minutes.

Here’s Business2Blogger, LLC (Registered in Texas): https://ourcpa.cpa.state.tx.us/coa/servlet/cpa.app.coa.CoaGetTp?Pg=tpid&Search_Nm=Business2Blogger%20&Button=search&Search_ID=32041978571

Here’s BSM Media, Inc (registered in Florida, of which MomSelect is a part of): http://ccfcorp.dos.state.fl.us/scripts/cordet.exe?action=DETFIL&inq_doc_number=P05000011784&inq_came_from=NAMFWD&cor_web_names_seq_number=0000&names_name_ind=N&names_cor_number=&names_name_seq=&names_name_ind=&names_comp_name=BSMMEDIA&names_filing_type=

Do I think this will convince her? No. However, 1) I believe in fighting debunking lies whenever possible and 2) it might be interesting to see how she can claim that those state agencies are wrong.

I am Amel, the author of The Unreliable Narrator, and unfortunately one of Dawn’s targets. Found your site from my Analytics report today.

Like Brendan, I had not even known that stalker Dawn exists, until she harassed my blog in December 2010. Only, and only because she started her own blog on the same platform Blog.com. She got to mine from the “poetry” tag. Deluding herself that I am Brendan sending her secret love messages in my poems.

I didn’t know Brendan and the other victims of Dawn before all of this. I even thought she was a spambot from her repetitive diction, since I was very new to the blogging world and didn’t know that such cyberstalkers are real.

My claims are factual. Dawn’s abusive comments on my blog (only some):

To verify that I am real, feel free to have a webcam chat with me. I am so sick of her calling me “fake”. She needs medication.

I have been watching her crazy downward spiral since it started… Her main victims are all twitter pals of mine… She will not stop until she is hospitalized I’m sure of it…,

Her anger is not justified. Her vile and loathsome accusations have no basis in reality.

If anyone wishes to support a complaint to any authorities, the NZ police have my complaint on record as their reference 111007/1097.

Here’s a sample of a mere 24 hour of her harassment that has been ongoing for a year-and-a-half.

This woman has never met me, I have never met her, and I have done nothing to encourage to encourage her fantastical claims.
